We love surprising our clients!

This time of year when we hear from lots of newly engaged couples and we wanted to put together a blog that would ease their minds about working with Emerson Fields for their big day. First of all, CONGRATULATIONS if you’re recently engaged- how exciting!!

We’ve been working on polling our brides to gather information on how we can better serve future clients. I enjoy listening to podcasts and recently I came across a podcast about follow-up questions to ask clients. I couldn’t even finish listening to the episode before reconstructing our survey to include this question:

What’s the one thing that surprised you about working with Emerson Fields?

So for this blog post I’ve compiled all the answers, so far, to that question because it’s one of our favorites! I’m adding in some of our favorite photos because nobody likes a blog without pictures. Many, many thanks to these amazing photographers whose work we love and adore - Kelsi Kliethermes, Emily Broadbent, Bianca Beck, Amber Garrett, Jenny Shipley, Lovetree Studios and Amber Koelling.

If you hire one of these photography teams you WILL NOT be sorry and will only certainly have SWEET surprises in store for your wedding day. Now here come all of the answers to our brides biggest surprises about working with us…

“The flexibility you and Steve had for us.” Emily

“How helpful you guys really were. Especially Amelia! Love her and loved her being there the Friday for decorating and also the day of the wedding. Great people!” [Shelby, Smithville, MO]

“The tremendous amount of one-on-one time you give each set of clients. There was another well-known barn venue in the area I was looking at and I had reached out to them several times with no response. It was SO refreshing to know that even though we were booking WAY in advance, EF still kept contact and built that relationship with us; making the whole venture, from first meeting to wedding day comfortable and smooth.” said Justis from Fulton, MO.

  • “Hands-on. You guys were always there and it was nice if we had questions or needed adjustments” [Morgan, Blue Springs]

  • “How helpful the both of you were - even with DAY OF stuff!” [Bailey, Pattonsburg, MO]

  • “You all were very accommodating and easy to work with. We got much more from you guys then just a venue.” [Holly, Columbia, MO pictured below]

  • “That you both were there the entire day helping with whatever we needed. It was nice to have an extra set of hands that we weren't expecting, but were very appreciative of.” [Shelby, Shelbina, MO]

  • “We were surprised with how helpful you were. It is not common for venue owners to meet with couples to help them finalize their wedding day plans. Your suggestions and attention to detail were so very appreciated.” [Kylie, Centralia, MO]

  • “How personal Steve and Amelia were! I felt like they really took the time to get to know us, and our vision.” [Sadie, Columbia, MO]

Ronni from Moberly answered, “That you all were so involved with our wedding planning and wedding day! It was nice to know you guys cared and wanted us to truly have the best day possible!”

Beau, from Columbia and pictured below, said “How easy it was. Everything was organized which made it super simple on us and allowed us to enjoy our day rather than worrying about things”

“How wonderful and tentative you all were throughout the entire process. Constantly checking on us, making sure we didn't need anything and that things were going smoothly. Then the day before/day of the wedding, your help/services were second to none. I've been to weddings in similar types of venues and the owners aren't anywhere to be found.” [from Becca Columbia, MO]

“Just how nice/helpful you all were!! From every aspect of it. We didn’t ever feel “alone” which gave us so much comfort!” [Cortney, Columbia, MO]

“How involved you were throughout the weekend-we appreciated it SO much! Thank you, thank you, thank you!” [Kristen, Mound City, MO]

“How easy and comfortable you made me feel!

Alyson, Columbia, MO
