Modern Floral-Filled Outdoor Summer Wedding | Morghan + Jeremy from Hannibal, MO
Morghan and Jeremy had a chic, modern wedding day with a dramatic emphasis on florals and it was e-ver-y-thing! This gorgeous September summer wedding was perfect from start to finish. We enjoyed hosting Morghan and Jeremy for their wedding weekend at Emerson Fields. They were the sweetest couple and we still enjoy running into them from time to time!
Jeremy and Morghan met in college and started getting to know each other their senior year. They started dating officially and things blossomed from there! He popped the question in the Bahamas while on a trip with their families. Morghan said, “I knew he was planning to propose on our trip but wasn’t sure of what day until the day actually came and everyone’s mood shifted and I could sense my mom and dad being anxious. Plus, I knew in May of 2019 that he had a ring.. but, he didn’t propose until March of 2020, so I basically had our entire wedding planned by then!”
Modern - Chic - Classic
We asked Morghan why she and Jeremy chose Emerson Fields for their wedding weekend and here is what she had to say.
Morghan and her ladies started the morning off with champagne while getting hair and makeup done in the bridal suite. Morghan looked completely flawless in her modern form-fitting dress, completely customized by Alyssa Kristin. The flowing tulle wings off of her sleeves were divine and took the place of a traditional veil.
After sharing a first look moment with her bridesmaids inside the venue, Morghan went out the door of the bridal suite for the first look with her father. It was such a sweet moment with her mom fluffing Morghan’s train and Morghan calling out, “Hey daddy, turn around!”. It was also the perfect shaded location for a first look on this hot summer day. Maddie Stringfellow Photography did a phenomenal job with these photos on this bright and sunny summer day with Emerson Fields as the backdrop.
After snapping a few bridal portraits, Morghan headed out to the wooded area beside the field to meet her groom! By using our golf cart she ensured no time was wasted and she could save up her energy for the dance floor. It was a touching and private first look where the bride and groom could spend some relaxed moments together unrehearsed. They read each other personal letters and then got to see their pups! Can we make puppy first looks a thing from now on?! So cute!
The wedding party was large with 16 people in total! They got some great wedding party photos in the shade of the pavilion where they would later say their vows. All of their wedding party photos were so full of energetic love and smiles that it was hard to choose what to share! Plus, those off-the-shoulder dark green bridesmaid dresses from BHLDN looked gorgeous on these ladies!
After wedding party photos it was time to head back inside the venue to cool off before the outdoor pavilion ceremony. We loved Morghan’s floral vision that D-Zines Weddings was able to bring to life! Adding white drapery to the rafters of the pavilion softened the space and added a sweet sound of fabric billowing in the breeze. The hanging floral installation at the altar and the aisle floral arrangements added a beautiful fresh element to the outdoor space! Talk about a flower-filled outdoor wedding! It also blended their green, white, and classic black color palette together in the white pavilion.
Morghan and Jeremy had a beautiful wedding ceremony! Just look at these pictures and imagine a harp and violin playing in the background, a warm sunny day, birds chirping in the field, family and friends gathered together, the soft sound of the warm breeze…and you will get an idea of what everyone was experiencing! The couple lit unity candles, read vows, prayed, laughed, and were pronounced Husband and Wife!
After the ceremony, the bride and groom took family formals with their loved ones in the pavilion. They also celebrated with a little champagne spray with their friends! It is such an honor to host couples and their families each weekend. We love that Morghan and Jeremy’s families will be able to look back on their family wedding photos remembering this day and the love they share.
Morghan’s mother shared such kind words about their experience at Emerson Fields that we wanted to include those as well.
“As the Mother of the Bride, I cannot speak highly enough of Emerson Fields! Steve and Amelia went above and beyond to make sure that our daughter's wedding was the perfect day.
The venue itself is just stunning and the simple fact we had it from noon on Friday until noon on Sunday made the investment even more attractive. We literally did everything at the venue for the wedding weekend - from the rehearsal dinner on Friday night, all the things on Saturday, and ended the weekend festivities with a brunch on Sunday morning.
Steve and Amelia are a hands-on team. They are there, in the background, getting all the things done for you regarding the venue. I also want to add that they are a wealth of knowledge of all things wedding - check out the blog on their website with so much helpful advice, as well as links to so many helpful articles - to help you prepare for your daughter/son's big day.
Our daughter had a very clear vision of what she wanted for her big day, and Emerson Fields was the PERFECT venue to achieve all that she wanted. It was definitely a dream wedding.”
Let’s hear it again for Morghan looking STUNNING!
While the family and wedding party wrapped up some photos, the wedding guests gathered on the dock and back patio of Emerson Fields for cocktail hour. The couple supplied yard games, drinks, and appetizers while guests enjoyed some time outside.
Morghan did a wonderful job planning her wedding day! Everything from the signage to the vintage china was magazine-worthy. Her modern aesthetic and simple color palette made every piece of décor pop. To welcome their guests to the reception space, they hung a welcome sign under the portico with a gold rectangular frame and a swag of greenery. Guests were greeted in the foyer of Emerson Fields with a guest book to sign full of the couple’s engagement pictures. A remembrance area near the guest book ensured that everyone got to see some very important family members of the bride and groom. Candles stayed lit in the foyer throughout the evening in their honor.
Once inside the venue’s main floor, guests were instantly surrounded by a lush floral experience. Morghan was inspired by a hanging floral installation we showcased at an Open Venue Experience at Emerson Fields and D-Zines Weddings was able to recreate it in a fun, new way to Morghan’s liking! They also repurposed the aisle flower arrangements from the ceremony and added them in front of the head table on the stage. What a dramatic effect!
The place settings on the tables were from Good Stuff China of Kansas City. These were a perfect blend of a black modern charger, a gold-rimmed vintage china dinner plate, a vintage china salad plate, gold flatware, a gold-rimmed water glass, and the most perfect green stemmed goblets! The tableware was adorned with an order of events card and a beautifully knotted emerald green velvet dinner napkin and a sprig of fresh greenery. Not only that, each table had a unique centerpiece with gold candle holders and abundant floral and greenery-focused arrangements. Did you notice those chic white and gold table numbers to finish it off?
Such a gorgeous design that we could talk about the details for days! Morghan even mentioned when talking about her florals from D-Zines Weddings, “Tyena gave me her heart and soul on my florals and they were worth it!”
Make sure to take note of the vendor tags at the end of this blog post for where to source amazing finds just like Morghan did!
Morghan and Jeremy chose some top-notch vendors to create this ultimate modern wedding day. Special details were all throughout this reception space. The dessert bar alone was a show-stopper! Mini cheesecakes, pies, cupcakes, and more were delivered from Koch’s General Store (side note - they also catered the reception dinner here) and placed on this modern circular display rented from D-Zines Weddings.
The wedding guests really seemed to enjoy themselves on this relaxing evening. From listening to heartfelt speeches to watching the first dances, catching glimpses of Cindy Scott Artistry live painting in the balcony, sipping signature cocktails, and so much more!
While guests continued to enjoy themselves at the reception, Morghan and Jeremy jumped at the chance to take some dreamy sunset photos around Emerson Fields. These are the kind of photos you frame and keep for a lifetime!
Morghan and Jeremy had a beautiful, modern, and chic wedding day at Emerson Fields. It is always a joy to see our couples savor their wedding day, which is why we offer a full-weekend rental period as our standard. Like Morghan’s mother said, having one space for the Friday rehearsal, Saturday wedding, and reception, and Sunday brunch is a huge time and money saver.
