Romantic Summer Garden Wedding with Lush Florals | Callie + Jack from Columbia, MO
Jack and Callie had a very clear vision of what they dreamed of for their wedding day- light, elegant, classic, romantic, and meaningful, with an abundance of florals. We were so happy to have Jack and Callie choose Emerson Fields as their wedding venue for their July wedding! They live in Columbia, Mo where Jack is a physician and Callie is an attorney. They actually booked our venue several weeks before they were officially engaged in order to grab our last summer weekend that year. This powerhouse couple both work demanding jobs, so they decided to hire a full-service wedding planner, Plan It Terra, from Jefferson City, MO to bring their garden-inspired romantic wedding to life! Terra knew the venue well which brought so much reassurance for them.
We asked Callie and Jack what they loved about having their wedding at Emerson Fields and here is what they had to say…
“Our vision for our wedding was romantic, meaningful, classic, upscale, soft colors, with a large amount of florals. Emerson Fields encompassed each of those aspects. It was so easy that everything for the weekend could be onsite, from the rehearsal to getting ready, to the ceremony, and reception. Emerson Fields allowed us to dream big and have a wedding that we will cherish and reminiscence about for the rest of our lives.”
This fairytale wedding weekend at Emerson Fields started with the Plan It Terra team pulling off a beautiful rehearsal dinner in the venue on Friday night. You can see more about that perfectly planned rehearsal dinner in this blog post. On Saturday morning, Callie and her bridesmaids arrived early to start their hair and makeup in the bridal suite. This gave Ashley Ice Photography plenty of time to shoot some gorgeous flat-lay shots of all the little details. Callie had such a vision for the flowers at her wedding! She made sure to order extra blooms just for the photographer to use for detailed flat-lay photos. Callie’s forward-thinking led to these incredible editorial-style flat lay shots that encompass the romantic feeling of this wedding day.
Callie got to share some sweet time with her bridesmaids and sisters in the bridal suite. We love that Callie’s mother got to be with her getting ready because Plan It Terra was running the show in the background! Callie also got to share a special moment with her father during a first look on the balcony inside the venue.
We love that Ashley Ice Photography took bridal portraits of Callie upstairs on the balcony, on the stairs, and standing in the aisle where the wedding ceremony would be later that afternoon. There are many indoor photos options at Emerson Fields, especially when it’s a hot July day. It was also a great chance to capture some individual portraits before Callie and Jack shared their first look on the stage.
The couple chose to have a first look before the ceremony in the same location where they would say “I Do” a few hours later. It was such a sweet moment for the couple to see one another and share some one-on-one time. They also wrote letters to one another and read them to each other during their first look. This is a great idea if you have personal things you want to express, but you don’t want to do it in front of all your wedding guests.
After the first look, Callie and Jack had time to get some photos of their wedding party under the shade of the pavilion. We love that the couple made use of every inch of Emerson Fields for their wedding day! The groomsmen’s navy blue suits and the bridesmaids’ pale pink dresses popped against the all-white interior of the pavilion. Plus, it gave the photographer tons of natural light without the sun in anyone’s eyes. Win win!
Plan It Terra’s team of pros truly transformed the interior of Emerson Fields into a fairytale garden for this romantic wedding ceremony. The lush blooms at the ends of the aisles along with the hanging greenery on the string lights transported everyone to a garden-like Parisian afternoon. Sugarberry Blooms knocked it out of the park with these florals!
Jack and Callie’s wedding ceremony was completely beautiful. Even though the couple had a first look earlier in the day, the sight of Callie walking down the aisle still made Jack tear up. (Which made everyone else tear up too!!) Personal vows were read by the couple and then they chose to have a foot-washing ceremony. They took turns washing one another’s feet to signify their selfless and humble love for one another. They also used Emerson Fields’ wooden cross as the backdrop to their “I Dos” because of their faith in God.
After some beautiful portraits together in the meadow at Emerson Fields, the couple joined their wedding guests out on the back patio for cocktail hour. Live music, hor devours, a vintage lounge, signature cocktails, and lots of handshakes and hugs made this the perfect pre-party to their wedding reception! We love the attention to detail at this wedding, like the white drapery in the rafters of the back patio and the customized drink sign “A doctor and a lawyer walked into a bar…”.
During cocktail hour, Plan It Terra and her team transformed the interior of the venue again into an exquisitely romantic wedding reception. This wedding was all about the florals and we were so impressed. Vintage compotes with sweet arrangements of roses, gold and glass candlesticks, and pops of pinks and greens throughout the bright space looked both elegant and romantic. A true fairytale wedding come to life!
This powerhouse couple went all out for their big day and cherished every moment of it from start to finish. From dancing by the lake to cutting the cake, toasts by their wedding party, a sentimental first dance, and plenty of time for portraits, this couple used every second they had at Emerson Fields and made it into a lasting memory. Plus, they hired Cindy Scott Artistry, a live wedding painter, to capture it all for them on a canvas to last a lifetime!
Jack and Callie ended the wedding day in style! Both Jack and Callie changed into unique outfits for the dance party portion of the reception which was super fun. Speaking of fun, this couple really knows how to throw a party! With High Class DJs in front of the stage, the wedding guests were ready to dance the night away (complete with a cannon gun fog machine).
Ending the night with a spectacular fireworks display was the icing on the cake of this gorgeous summer wedding day. We love what Callie and Jack had to say in summary of their wedding day at Emerson Fields.
Callie and Jack truly had a weekend to remember at Emerson Fields! We loved hosting them and their family, starting at the rehearsal dinner on Friday night. Plan It Terra did a phenomenal job designing and planning out this dream garden wedding.
